Questions and Answers > steroids and loosing fat

Ive been lifting since the age of 14 and messed around with a pro-hormone (tren extreme) at the age of 17 and a year later did an inject-able steroid cycle (omedrene) followed by a cutting cycle..with proper post cycles...its been a little over 2 years since the use of any synthetic hormones...Ive been dieting for the past 8 months with a clean diet and controlling my carb intake for the past 6 months.....(every 2 to 4 days carb up but besides that only meats and veggies; gluten free for 6 months)...Ive continued to lean out but hit a holding point...what affects could could my prior steroid use have on my ability to loose fat? Thyroid? I dont feel as though my test levels are low because Ive continually gotten stronger than when I was on cycle...

Stay in school and don't do drugs! Ok, now that the disclaimer is done here is some helpful info.
The enzyme aromatase increases as we age and when body fat goes up. Steroids or Testosterone or Hormone Therapy dramatically converts to the female hormone estrogen! The criminal causing this conversion to E is aromatase. Artificially stimulating T above natural levels at a young age leaves you with a lump of coal (aromatase).
What to do:
#1) Drop bodyfat. Incorporate a Paleo style diet or more simply eat organic food from the ground up and avoid processed food or from the box down!
#2) Test your zinc levels. Zinc helps block the conversion from T to E, essentially lowering aromatase. Liquid zinc if swallowed should taste horrendous. If you can't taste it than that is a big clue zinc is needed!
If you have done both of these and are still searching . . . book a consult with me and be enlightened
